Most of us love warm weather and beautiful sunny days but there’s also something to be said for rainy weekends spent at home in the winter. I never think of it as being trapped inside since there’s so many activities made that much better by the rain.
Hotpot and movie marathon
Perfect with friends and family but just as nice by yourself set up on the coffee table in front of the tv going through your movie list from lunch to dinner time.
Reading time
Snuggle up in a cushy armchair with a great book and cup of steaming hot tea or chocolate. Warning: will likely lead to many naps.

Spicy Shin Ramen with a kdrama
Any instant noodle of your choice (shin ramen is my guilty pleasure) and go to town with the toppings – spam, eggs and slice of kraft cheese plus lots of green onions go great with spicy flavours. Then slurp along with your favourite kdrama characters.
Foot soaks and gua sha
I love baths but sometimes it’s too much of a hassle to get it setup plus not everyone has a bathtub. Foot soaks are really popular in Chinese medicine and can be done with any bucket or tub you have. Expert tip: boil some ginger and peppercorns separately and once cool slightly, add to your feet soak. Soak for 10-20 minutes until your body feels warm and with slight sweat. Skip doomsday scrolling for some facial gua sha – instant spa day without spending a dime.
Watch the storm and space out
It sounds weird but hear me out – is it not the utmost luxury to get to stay inside where it’s warm and dry whenever there’s a wild storm outside? Bask in the appreciation and let the hypnotic patterns of raindrops put you into a meditative state. Talk about zen.
